A Great Superbowl Party Idea

Not sure what to bring to that superbowl party you're going to? Don't want to bring the same old boring thing or maybe you are hosting a Superbowl party and want to WOW your guests with something different...How about Chocolate Covered Football Shaped Oreos?!?!  You can order them here!!

Small Order - 24 cookies is $15.00
Medium Order - 48 is $28.00

For Larger orders please email me at chocolatecoveredworld@gmail.com

If you'd like to make them yourself, its pretty simple!

What you'll need:
  • Football shaped Oreo Cookies
  • Milk or Dark Chocolate waffers (depends on preference)
  • White chocolate waffers or chips
  •  Parchment paper

Prepare a pan lined with parchment paper. (this will prevent the chocolate from getting stuck to the pan)

Melt the Milk/Dark Chocolate in a double boiler

When chocolate is silky smooth and runs smoothly off spoon its time to start dipping the Oreos

Drop in one Oreo at a time, make sure it is completely covered with chocolate

Take it out with a fork and make sure excess chocolate has dripped off Oreo
Tip: Lay the oreo flat on the fork and bang fork against the pot to get excess chocolate off

Place on parchment paper

When you've finished covering all the oreos place pan in refrigerator for about 5-7 minutes until completely hardened

While waiting for the chocolate to harden start melting the white chocolate in a double boiler.

When completely melted, take out Oreos from the fridge

Take a piece of parchment paper and make into a cone. Cut a small hole.
Put melted white chocolate in cone and use as pen to design Oreo football with the stitching

Put back in fridge so white can harden as well

ENJOY!

Where it began...

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Martianne, but most call me Marti..

My  grandmother Mary always brought a tray of homemade chocolate to a house she was invited to, any holiday we'd expect to see a tray of that famous chocolate.. I remember, as a child, always thinking my grandparent's house smelled of candy... She would make chocolate covered pretzels, caramel, rocky road (marshmallows with nuts), nutella, peanut butter and the list goes on... My favorite was the caramel and she always made sure to have some on the side for me to take home (along with her delicious pasta sauce but thats a whole other blog lol).
As my grandparents got older, the trays of chocolate became more seldom...I've wanted to start this blog for awhile but something always comes up...My grandmother passed away in 2009 and now that another holiday has passed without her delicious chocolate I've decided there is no time like the present to share her story....
So here it is, as often as I can, I will make one of her famous chocolate creations and post on the blog exactly what I did. Its a way to share her recipes with the world. I will try my hardest to live up to her creations, but I do know that if I put half the love in it that she did, I will make her proud!
